PASSES OUT OF
SENATE COMMITTEE
AB
46
Though amended from its original version,
AB46
does not go far enough in ensuring that innocent and law abiding
citizens do not become inadvertently entrapped into becoming
felons.
The
bill in question, AB46 has language to force Nevada into compliance
with the NRA backed Brady expansion bill passed by the US
Congress in 2007.
GONV is opposed to AB
46 which is in the Senate.
AB 46 would turn over thousands of private mental health records
to the Obama administration with the express purpose of using
them to prevent gun purchases.
The problem: GONV is regularly contacted by people who are
unable to buy a personal defense firearm. They’ve done
nothing wrong, but they’ve been wrongly added to the
state POC (NICS) system and while they wait to sort it out
they are defenseless and in fear for their life.
Many of the most recent contacts have
been single women who are victims of stalkers.
How much collusion (read: Carson City rubber stamping)
do we need between the Fed’s and the State before someone
asks the question, “Why do we need state elected officials?”
We were not able to stop this
bill in the Assembly so it is essential that you contact the
Senate
with the simple message, "DO NOT PASS AB46."
Our
private records should not be turned over to an administration
that has pledged to eliminate gun rights.
This
kind of power will be used to make the government stronger
and your gun rights weaker.
A sample letter follows that you may
use when contacting the Senate.
This is an urgent matter. Please pass this message on to others
in Nevada that are gun owners. Please don’t wait.
“You do not examine legislation in light of
the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but
in light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would
cause if improperly administered.” —LYNDON
B. JOHNSON

Dear Senator,
DO NOT PASS AB46.
Our private records should not be turned over to an administration
that has pledged to eliminate gun rights.
This bill would not provide the needed due process
and though amended from its original version, does not go
far enough in ensuring that innocent and law abiding citizens
do not become inadvertently entrapped into becoming felons.
OPPOSE AB46
Thank you,
