Two Bills That Need to Die in Committee—

Urgent Action Needed on Two Bills

The two bills are:

AB46 which makes various changes concerning the right of
certain persons to purchase or possess a firearm and
AB93 which revises the definition of the crime of assault.

These two bills (AB46 and AB93) are not positive changes for gun owners
and we urge you to contact the Assembly Judiciary Committee members and
ask them to vote NO on both bills. Also, please contact your own legislator
if he or she is not a member of the committee and tell them that you do NOT
support the bills and expect them to not support the bills as well.

These bills do not fully protect an individual's gun rights and we
believe both bills are dangerously broad and ripe for misinterpretation
and abuse. We believe gun owners deserve clearer laws.

Attorney Stewart Rhodes summary of AB93 is as follows:

This would mean that even if you had the very best intentions,
and did not mean to do any of the other elements, it would be too bad for you.
The prosecutor would only have to show that you did such and such physical act,
not that you did so with a specific intent.

It would strip away a major defense of our liberty and of our right
to the presumption of innocence in a fair trial.

Now it’s your turn. We need everyone to call the Assembly Judiciary Committee

Tell them to vote NO on AB46 and AB93.

Please take a moment to contact the Assembly Judiciary Committee
and let them know that good intentions don't always yield good laws.

Also when contacting Ty Cobb, please let him know that you appreciate
his support of the 2nd Amendment concerning his work on AB46.

Again, tell them to vote NO on AB46 and AB93.

Dear Representative,

Two bills are before you this session that I am concerned about. Please vote no on both AB 46 and AB 93. I strongly believe these bills would not provide the needed due process and also feel that they are overly broad and ripe for misinterpretation.

Please oppose both of these bills.
